PokéPark Kanto at Yomiuriland: planning a day with the family

PokéPark Kanto opened in February 2026 inside Yomiuriland, an amusement park on the green hills of Inagi in western Tokyo. It is a permanent outdoor Pokémon park, and one of the most searched new attractions in Japan this year. Here is how to plan a day there, especially with children.

What it is

PokéPark Kanto is an open air park inside Yomiuriland where you walk through areas themed around the world of Pokémon, with attractions, shows and shops. Because it is new and very popular, details such as opening hours, special events and ticket types change often, so check the official website before you plan.

Tickets

Book tickets online for a specific date as early as you can, especially for weekends and Japanese school holidays. Check whether your ticket also covers the rest of Yomiuriland, which has its own rides, shows and seasonal events such as the winter illumination.

How long to stay

With children, plan on most of a day: a few hours in PokéPark, lunch, and some time on the rides of Yomiuriland. The park is on a hill and largely outdoors, so comfortable shoes, water and a hat in summer, or warm layers in winter, make a difference.

Getting there

Yomiuriland is about forty five minutes to an hour from central Tokyo by car. By train, the Keio line to Keio-Yomiuri-Land station connects with a gondola up the hill, and the Odakyu line has a bus from Yomiuriland-mae; with changes from central Tokyo, it is about an hour or more each way, which is long with small children and a day of souvenirs.

By car, and the price

A chauffeur collects the family at the hotel, drives to the park gate, waits during the day and brings everyone back, with the shopping and the tired children in the car. It is from ¥16,000 per hour with a two hour minimum, and a park day usually takes seven to eight hours, from ¥126,000 for a full day of eight hours. Child seats are arranged in advance at no extra cost, and your chauffeur can speak English, Italian, Spanish, French or Japanese.
